We like to think not. Many modern function venues have installed sound limitation devices, so it’s literally impossible to play too loud, but we’re keen to avoid bleeding eardrums, so with that in mind, we play at a volume which will encourage your guests onto the dance floor but won’t blast them into the next town.

* Remember, if you’re standing 6 inches away from the speakers, you may find the volume a little too loud. There’s a tried and tested method of resolving this issue – move a little further back; you’ll find it works wonders.

As long as the performance area is a hard, dry surface and we have a watertight cover / roof above us, we’re all good. Please bear in mind that due to the unreliability of the British summer, it’s best not to ask your band to set up completely outdoors though.

You mean like champagne and flamingos back stage? No, just point us in the direction of the stage and let us do our thing…buffet-style food and soft drinks are the only rider we request.

You’ll see testimonials and feedback on our news page.

We think not, but do some research beforehand – you’ll find we’re a lot more cost effective than any bands who are charging into the thousands.

So you need some convincing? Well, we’re not just a faceless bunch of musicians thrown together at the last minute by a booking agency – we gig with each other week in, week out and this shows in the level of entertainment we bring to the party. We love our job; we have a lot of energy on stage and every song we play sounds just right. Over the two hours of live band music and additional DJ music, we’ll offer you every opportunity to get on the dance floor and enjoy yourselves. You’ll recognise every song and you’ll wake up the next day with sore feet from dancing so much but with lots of positive, happy memories from the night before. So, how does that sound?

All of our equipment is tested and we hold PLI up to £10 million.

Of course – you have dressed to look your best for you big day and so will we! Unless you tell us you’re having a relaxed dress code, we’ll dress in trousers, shirts and ties.

We’re happy to let your friend sing and they can use one of our microphones, but for insurance purposes we’re not able to let anyone else use our equipment to entertain your guests. They why you’ve hired us!

Four on the Floor are a professional band so we’re not going to break up while there are wedding receptions, parties and business events to be played. In case of illness, we will always be able to rotate in another professional musician who will play their hearts out for you!

In common with other professional bands, we don’t hold dates, so to confirm a booking we would draft up a contract and request a deposit, with the booking being confirmed after receipt of both.

Providing we have clear access to the performance area, we can be set up and soundchecked within an hour, but we can provide DJ music from around 30 minutes after starting to set up, just in case your evening guests arrive early!

We’re happy to arrive at any time from 5pm onwards, and we usually finish at around midnight. For early arrivals and late finishes we would request an additional fee.

Our standard performance time is approximately 2 hours which can be split into either 2 x 1 hours sets or 3 x 40 mins sets, with DJ music before, inbetween and after the live band sets. We can also add another set for longer for an additional fee.

Our lighting system is perfect for wedding receptions and small business events – it lights the band, the dance floor and the rest of the room.

Yes, we provide all our own instruments, amplification, sound system and lighting. All we need is access to two standard domestic power points and a hard, dry surface to set up on. For marquees, power supplies will need to be insulated and not create a trip hazard. Our sound system is top of the ranger and is suitable for functions up to 700 people. For conferences, we’re happy to work with external AV to achieve the best possible sound for your venue. Our equipment is also compact, meaning the will be lots of room for your guests to dance.

Of course, though dependent on what time you are sitting down for your wedding breakfast, we may need to arrive a little earlier in the day to set up the PA. For an additional charge, we’ll do this and also provide you with appropriate background music for your wedding breakfast too!

We value your input, and it’s great to receive requests, but make sure to inform us of any song requests well in advance.

Why hire a separate DJ? We can do the job for you! Yes – we provide a manned DJ service free of charge. We have a massive playlist of DJ music and it’s all beatmatched and crossfaded, just like a professional DJ, and our top of the range sound system delivers crystal clear quality.

You don’t need to book through an agency – just call us direct on 0796 433 5657 for more information.

What you hear in our videos and MP3s is what you’ll hear when you see us play live. We don’t use backing tracks and we don’t utilise autotuning. Our sound is the result of lots of hard work in the rehearsal studio and the versatility and experience of top professional musicians.

All of our equipment is modern and designed to draw a lot less power than bands who are using older equipment, so if you are holding your function in a venue which regularly hosts live entertainment, you won’t have any problems. For marquees, a standard domestic power point taken from a feed in the main building is also good, though the venue will need to provide and take responsibility for any extension lead from the building to the marquee.

We’re happy to look at your song requests and provide DJ music at no additional cost, though we would request an additional fee for early arrivals, late finishes, use of our sound system and microphones.

One of the great things about hiring Four on the Floor band is that as a four piece band we have a really nice, compact set up and we can set up in spaces that are too small for larger events bands. Anything from 15ft x 8ft upwards is fine, and we don’t need a stage (though if your venue has one we’re more than happy to set up on it).

We’re pretty flexible and we’re happy to work with whatever timings you think are best, though one thing we’d suggest is not to get too hung up on planning an exact schedule for your evening. Why? Because if you’re planning your wedding, your meal and speeches could well over run, but don’t worry – there will still be plenty of time for two hours of live band music AND DJ music (which we supply free of charge).

Of course you can! Just ask us for our full playlist and start choosing.

We’re happy to play throughout England and Wales.

The one down side of being a professional band is that we don’t play in pubs or clubs – just wedding receptions to business functions, and as such these are private functions. But take a look at our videos, listen to the MP3s, and tell us what you think!

Of course! This is all part of what we do, and we won’t you any extra. Regardless of whether it’s a really well knows song or something a little more off the beaten track, we relish the opportunity to learn a song we haven’t performed previously. All you need to do is just ask us.
