Wolverhampton wedding wonders

Wolverhampton has some hidden gems – you’d be surprised. There are some aesthetically pleasing and well laid out public parks and a sprinkling of almost-stately homes which hint at the citys’ pre-industrial past. Rather more modern but no less impressive, the Ramada Park hotel hosts many wedding receptions each year, and once Rachael and Colin had booked the Orangery for their wedding breakfast and evening reception, they quickly started looking at great wedding band entertainment.

Research, research, research

Having done their research, they knew that the best professional live bands such as Four On The Floor can get booked up over a year in advance. They looked at bands on swanky entertainment agency websites and realised that they would often be paying a hefty commission for very little more than an introduction to the band themselves. They also ruled out amateur bands – what initially looks like a bargain often tends not to fit requirements on closer inspection. Your friends’ band may sound like a good idea, and if you’re happy to cut corners and risk disappointment on your big day then fair enough.

But Rachael and Colin did not want to cut corners. Neither did they want to pay a huge fee for a cheesy wedding band. You know the type – an X-factor wannabe over singing, backed by anonymous musicians with zero charisma. So naturally, they chose Four on the Floor band! We love speaking to prospective clients about their music tastes and we always aim to put together sets that brides and grooms are happy with. Rather than playing the exact same songs at every booking (you’d be surprised how many do this), we prefer to personalise the service we offer. Kind of makes sense, right?

Choosing the right music

In fact, having looked through our extensive playlist of non-cheesy classic and modern hits, Rachael only had one request, funnily enough not take from the wedding music playlist  featured on our website – “In these arms”, by Bon Jovi, which is a great choice for first dance. And of course, we were happy to learn it. On the big day, we arrived at the venue and waited until the wedding breakfast and speeches had finished. Then while the staff were turning around the room, we set up quickly, sound checked and started the evening with a DJ segment, which we provide as standard at no extra fee.

Wedding review

Classic songs like “Higher and higher”, Jackie Wilson, “Signed, sealed, delivered”, Stevie Wonder, and “Satisfaction”, Rolling Stones sit along side “Can’t stop the feeling”, Justin Timberlake, “Chelsea dagger”, The Fratellis, “Happy”, Pharrell Williams and “Mr, Brightside”, Killers in our set and Rachael, Colin and guests spent the whole night on the dance floor! Rachael told us, “you guys were brilliant tonight, thank you so much! We’d definitely recommend you to anyone.” High praise indeed.
